About our Rescue Director:

Daniel John O’Connell, B.Sc., CHST, REA
Federal OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer

Mr. O'Connell has been certified in the Comprehensive Practice of Health and Safety Technology, by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene / Board of Certified Safety Professionals (CCHEST), and holds the right to the designation “Certified Health and Safety Technician” (CHST) under CCHEST certification number C1223.  Mr. O’Connell is also certified by the California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA) as a Class I Registered Environmental Assessor (REA) under Cal/EPA certification number 08265. He also possesses a Bachelor of Science Degree (Honors Graduate Cum Laude) in Environmental Health and Safety, and a Certificate Degree in Occupational Safety Management from the University of California. 

Mr. O’Connell is certified in Confined Space Rescue Operations (California State Fire Marshal), and serves as Principal Safety Engineer for SAFETRAN, LLC, and Vice President of Confined Space Rescue Service (CSRS).  A Professional Member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), Bay Area Environmental Safety Group (BAESG), and the Strategic Pipeline Safety Consortium.
